Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement
Kids on the Green will not discriminate against our staff, our students, our Service users or any other stakeholders on the basis of their gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil partner status, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, colour, nationality, ethic or national origin, disability, age or pregnancy (collectively “the Protected Characteristics”).
Any concerns should be raised with Kids on the Green.
Our Employees
It is the Company’s policy not to discriminate against its employees, job applicants or individuals who work at the Company on the basis of Protected Characteristics. A detailed policy for our staff is held separately and sets out our expectations.
Students, Service Users, and third parties
The principle of non-discrimination and equality of opportunity applies equally to the treatment of students visitors, clients, customers and suppliers. Unlawful discrimination on the basis of a Protected Characteristic is not acceptable or in keeping with our ethos.
Zero tolerance
We will not tolerate unlawful discrimination against staff, student or stakeholders by any other individual associated with our organisation and any complaints will be treated with the utmost importance.
Sexual Harassment
The law makes it very clear that Sexual harassment in the workplace is not acceptable. We take a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment.
Any employee who engages in Sexual harassment is likely to face disciplinary action.
We also reserve the right to exclude service users or any third party who engages in sexual harassment of another stakeholder.
Examples of sexual harassment include:
- flirting, gesturing or making sexual remarks about someone’s body, clothing or appearance
- asking questions about someone’s sex life
- telling sexually offensive jokes, making sexual comments or jokes about someone’s sexual orientation or gender reassignment
- displaying or sharing pornographic or sexual images, or other sexual content
- touching someone against their will, for example, hugging them
- sexual assault
Bullying
We do not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment in the workplace.
Any person who is subjected to bullying, harassment, discrimination or victimisation, will have the full support of the Company’s management in putting a stop to it.

We believe that diversity is about recognising and valuing individuals, who can bring a range of experience and perspectives to the organisation. Embracing unique characteristics and acknowledging differences, that make individuals distinct from one another, will help to create a more inclusive environment.

Staff may utilise the Company grievance policy. Any other person may use our complaints procedure to raise any concerns.
