Therapy & Wellbeing

KOTG, as a trauma-informed centre, provides Mental Health First Aid and Trauma-Informed training to all our staff and volunteers. The “Peace Clinic” is a complementary therapy service that was initiated by KOTG as part of our emergency response to the Grenfell Tower fire. The Peace Clinic offers bi-monthly donation-based therapy sessions which include homoeopathy, acupuncture, kinesiology and craniosacral. These sessions are delivered by dedicated volunteers who help to provide these unique and exclusive treatments. KOTG is one of, if not the only stand-alone provision in London that mixes mental well-being into our youth services.

Animals for Therapy

Driven by our founder Zoe’s passion for animal-human interactions, our programming has embraced the therapeutic benefits of such connections. From beloved companions, such as Kissy the Snake and Mavis the Chihuahua to partnerships with Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre for Equine therapy sessions, KOTG continues its commitment to holistic healing and resilience within our community.

KOTG Youth Hub

KOTGs’ youth hub is a safe space for all of our young people to network, socialise, and express themselves freely in an environment without judgement. The creation of such a space is critical in furthering our aims of wellbeing, while also aiding creativity and the flourishment of our users. Our facilities include iMacs and laptops, where young people have the opportunity to use both educational and self-developing software. We offer a wide range of workshops and activities to encourage social development, promoting the mental well-being of our users and sparking thought-provoking discussions.

This safe space is where we encourage peer-to-peer mentorship, with our younger users benefiting from the examples set by our more senior users. It is designed to be interactive and relaxing, creating a space that suits all types of individual needs. Whether users wish to get out of the cold, access our wifi, play games or have a hot snack and a drink, each person is welcome to use this space to their own benefit, in a comfortable and safe environment where all can thrive.

Arts Awards & Training

In 2023, KOTG became an accredited Arts Awards centre with Trinity College, followed by accreditation as an education centre with the NCFE. This has paved the way for the launch of our Level 1 customised course in Artist Development, which progresses from the Arts Awards. Young people are given the freedom to develop their craft, being guided and supported through the course by our trained staff, who can help leave them with beneficial qualifications useful in other educational or employment pursuits.

Bite-size arts and media sessions

KOTG delivers taster sessions and bite-sized workshops in creative arts and media, introducing young people to its various facilities and longer accredited courses. These sessions run weekly, and can also be requested and delivered bespoke to each young person in a way that suits all their various needs and requirements.

One to One mentoring

As a small provision with a family-style environment, KOTG excels at intimate group work and one-to-one mentoring. This is both pastoral and creative. Our flexible approach, highly trained creative staff and willingness to work holistically, ensures each young person feels valued and personally catered for within the provision. Each young person is not only assigned a mentor but is also given a personal development file on registration where their creative work and well-being is tracked and reviewed.

KOTG Circus

Circus has been a part of KOTG since our start-up when we were primarily in our emergency response phase. Aerialist Amy Guayo was responsible for introducing Circus to KOTG and it was evident from those early experiences that circus has a huge positive impact on mental health.

KOTG has an aerial circus rig as well as soft circus and is well known in North Kensington for circus delivery at local events Our free circus workshops like most services are reliant on funding, and in 2024 we are planning means-tested classes in Aerial and soft circus for both adults and children.

Parkour

KOTG often partners with Parkour experts Esprit Concrete to deliver parkour workshops, typically offered twice a year.
Parkour is an excellent sport for the promotion of well-being, both physical and mental. It encourages young people in urban environments to get outside, it also promotes healthy risk taking. This service is also subject to funding.

After School Clubs & Workshops

KOTG delivers creative arts and sports during school hours, and after school clubs in both primary and secondary schools in RBKC. This service is also available throughout London and within the surrounding counties.

We will be delivering community and after school sessions at KOTG HQ also. Please get in contact with us if you are a community group or school that are interested in booking sessions, either on-premises or at our HQ.
